Asuy Me'Otiyot (Composed of Letters)

Projected at Beit Avi Chai during a tribute to Haim Guri’s legacy, this mixed-media animation trilogy reimagines the poet's oral history through a tactile, surrealist collage aesthetic. Blending archival photography, torn paper textures, and kinetic typography, the work visualizes three distinct vignettes: the rope-and-basket commerce of British Mandate Tel Aviv, the isolation of a grieving letter in post-war Budapest, and a philosophical reflection on the hidden secrets of bar patrons. The motion design is rhythmically anchored to the cadence of Guri’s voice, utilizing fluid transitions and rough-edge compositing to create a dreamlike atmosphere that bridges the gap between documentary storytelling and abstract visual art.
